Social Security Payments Continue This Week, See Who Gets Paid on July 15

Another round of Social Security payments is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The deposit is intended for beneficiaries whose birthdays fall between the 11th and the 20th of any month and who started receiving benefits after May 1997.

We continue to follow the monthly Social Security schedule so beneficiaries can see when payments are due, which group is being paid next and why some deposits arrive earlier than expected. The July 15 payment is the second of three regular Wednesday rounds this month.

The deposit can include retirement, Social Security Disability Insurance and survivor benefits. It is a regular monthly payment, not a bonus, stimulus check or additional benefit.

Who Gets a Social Security Payment on July 15?

The July 15 payment applies to beneficiaries who meet two conditions:

  • Their birthday falls from the 11th through the 20th of any month.
  • They began receiving Social Security benefits after May 1997.

The birthday connected with the benefit record determines the payment date. Someone receiving spousal or survivor benefits may need to use the birthday of the worker whose earnings record provides the benefit.

The schedule does not depend on where the recipient lives, which bank handles the deposit or the first letter of the recipient’s last name.

The latest report by USA Today also confirms that the deposit is intended for beneficiaries with birthdays in the middle part of the month.

Social Security Payment Dates for July 2026

Date Beneficiaries Scheduled to Be Paid
Wednesday, July 1 Supplemental Security Income recipients
Thursday, July 2 People normally paid on the third day of the month
Wednesday, July 8 Birthdays from the 1st through the 10th
Wednesday, July 15 Birthdays from the 11th through the 20th
Wednesday, July 22 Birthdays from the 21st through the 31st
Friday, July 31 August SSI payment arriving early

The dates follow the official Social Security payment calendar.

The first birthday-based round was issued on July 8. Our earlier update explains who received that Social Security payment and how the Wednesday schedule works.

Who Was Already Paid in July?

Several groups received money before July 15.

SSI recipients were paid on July 1. Beneficiaries who started receiving payments before May 1997, along with certain people receiving both Social Security and SSI, received their payment on July 2.

That deposit normally arrives on the third day of the month. It was sent one day early because July 3 was the federal holiday observance before Independence Day. We previously covered the early July payment and the groups affected by the change.

How Much Will Beneficiaries Receive?

There is no fixed amount for everyone paid on July 15. Monthly benefits depend on the recipient’s earnings record, claiming age, work history and type of benefit.

Social Security benefits increased by 2.8% in 2026 under the annual cost-of-living adjustment. That increase has already been included in payments since the beginning of the year. The July 15 deposit does not contain another benefit increase.

What Comes Next?

The final birthday-based Social Security payment for July is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22. It will go to beneficiaries born from the 21st through the 31st who started receiving benefits after May 1997.

SSI recipients will also receive a payment on July 31. That deposit is the August SSI benefit arriving early because August 1 falls on a Saturday. It is not an additional July payment.

What to Do if the July 15 Payment Is Missing

Beneficiaries should first check their bank account and confirm that their direct deposit information is correct. The Social Security Administration advises recipients to allow three additional mailing days before reporting a missing payment.

Anyone who still has not received the money can contact Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 or use a personal Social Security account to review benefit and payment information.

Bottom Line

Beneficiaries born from the 11th through the 20th and enrolled in Social Security after May 1997 are scheduled to receive their next payment on July 15. The remaining July round follows on July 22, while the July 31 SSI deposit belongs to August and is arriving one day early.
